Hailey (Mildred C.) Apartments open.

(Feb.) Architect: Michael Dyer. Originally the Heath Street housing development, it is located at 30 Bickford Street. The first public housing development for the elderly in Boston, it subsequently merges with the adjacent Bromley Park elderly development to become the Bromley-Heath housing development. It is renamed for the former tenant leader in 2016. Currently plans call for the complex to be renovated and some 400 new units of mixed-income units added by a group of non-profit developers.
